In the fall of 2023, I had the opportunity to design a vegetation measurement and monitoring pilot study for Los Rios Ranch LLC. In the process, I hoped to challenge some of my assumptions about species richness, a measure of species diversity. Also, I wanted to practice my line-point-intercept measurement technique. In a single afternoon, Marilla Havens and I collected over 400 measurements. After careful statistical analysis of our data, we were pleasantly surprised by our results.
